Saturday, April 29th, Read (Think) Books will be attending a presentation by Richard Franz, emeritus scientist at the Florida Museum of Natural History, at the Putnam County Historical Society. The presentation will offer insight on the natural history of the St. Johns River, describing sea levels during its development and how those levels impacted the plants and animals it supported and the people who colonized its shores.

Dick Franz is the coeditor of John and William Bartram's "Travels on the St. Johns River" with Thomas Hallock, from University Press of Florida. You can order "Travels on the St. Johns River" from us any time, but if you come in soon, we might have a signed copy still available!

If you'd like to attend the presentation, contact the Putnam County Historical Society to obtain your membership. The presentation will be held during the Society's monthly membership meeting on Saturday, April 29th, at 11:00 am at the Bronson-Mulholland House, 100 Madison Street, Palatka.
